Bitto


It’s a story about a girl called ‘Bitto’, who is born in a village where there is a sharp divide between the have’s and the have-nots. The Thakurs have everything and the lower castes/ chhot jyats have nothing. Bitto , a young, innocent and beautiful girl belongs to the chhot jyat. Bitto has grown up witnessing evils and atrocities committed on her community by the oonch jaatis. She and her community live in fear and discrimination.
Meanwhile, her elder sister Rajjo, who is a rebel, falls in love with Trilok, a Brahmin boy and both meet a disastrous fate. Rajjo’s dream of being a Gram Pradhan is destroyed…

While Bitto struggles with the misfortune inflicted on her family, winds of change force her into marrying the second son of Bade Thakur( the Gram Pradhan in the village and a tyrant). Tej Pratap had already made her life a living misery and now….she was going to be his wife!!

Unbeknownst to her, Bade Thakur had an evil plan behind the marriage…this year theGram Pradhan’s seat was reserved for a chhyot Jaati woman…Bade thakur intended to make Bitto the Gram Pradhan and use her like a puppet while he continued his atrocities in the village. Bitto walks into a trap…with her marriage to Tej…she walks into a den of lions with her eyes closed….like a lamb to the slaughter…

Would Bitto survive the tornado? Would she be able to save her marriage and would she be able to justify her role as the Gram Pradhan?
